Oakwood 75, Serra 69: The Owls, under the leadership of newly named WNBA LA Sparks assistant coach Steve Smith, were led in scoring by Hayden Suslow with 31 points, while Tj Boyd and Peyton Slaughter each contributed 14 points. Oakwood was ahead 41-31 at half, not before Serra of Gardena went on a 21-7 run in the third period to take a 52-48 advantage. But the Owls in the end got the job done.

Village Christian 60, Crossroads 50: The reigning CIF champion Crusaders picked up another quality win at South Pasadena High's Martin Luther King Day Showcase. Immanual Taylor led them in points with 17 points and five assists, Santa Clarita Christian transfer Jaden Karuletwa had 13 points and senior wing Thomas Luczak finished with 10 point and six rebounds to help improve Village to 18-4 overall. 

Schurr 63, Burroughs 54: The Bears opened the game down 11-0, but continued to fight until the final whistle. Sam Horning led the Bears with 16 points, while Tyrell Burrell had 11 points. Jacob Samontina finished with eight points at South Pasadena High's Martin Luther King Day Showcase. 

Agoura 84, Van Nuys 26: Zane Miller led the 13-9 Chargers with 22 points, while Nasir Meyer finished with 12 points. Caymen Wimmer dropped in 10 points at the 2023 Bishop Alemany Martin Luther King Day Showcase.

Alemany 92, Poly 60: Jared Mims led the 12-8 Warriors with 16 points, while Bryan Lopez-Wood had 15 points. Judah Sterns had 10 points. The game was competitive in the first half, before BA scored 50 points in the second half.

Crespi 76, Dos Pueblos 49: Joe Sterling led the 15-7 Celts with 18 points and Peyton White dropped 14 points at the Alemany MLK Day Showcase.

Shalhevet 52, Chaminade 47: The Eagles were led in scoring by Dylan Clay with 18 points. Coltrane Marchand had 10 points, while Amir Johnson had eights points at the Bishop Alemany Martin Luther King Day Showcase.

Sierra Canyon couldn’t stop the duo (Cameron and Cayden Boozer), who combined for 29 points, 20 rebounds and seven assists for the Columbus Explorers of Miami in a win over SC 47-46 in front of ESPN cameras in the birthplace of basketball aka Springfield, Mass. Isaiah Elohim led the 17-4 Trailblazers with 16 points. Elohim has picked up off from Kansas State. Bronny James had 13 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Jimmy Oladokun grabbed 11 rebounds for Sierra Canyon.

The Toreadors traveled up North to Bishop O’Dowd and fell in the end 65-62, Keyon Kenzie Jr. led Taft with 22 points (14 of which came in the second half), Village Christian transfer Bishop Brooks had 12 points, Derrick Hill had 11 points and Adam Grissom had 8 points. Taft will return to WVL action with Cleveland at home on Wednesday at 5 and at Birmingham on Friday at 7.

Eastside 66, Chatsworth 64: Freshman scoring sensation Alijah Arenas, son of 3x NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas, finished with a double-double 26 points and 10 rebounds to go along with four blocks and Jeremiah Nance had 14 points and 3 steals. The Chancellors will be continue West Valley League play on Wednesday at Granada Hills Charter and home vs ECR on Friday.

Northridge Academy 66, Lakeview Charter 24: Marquis Jiles was big for the 18-2 Pumas with 28 points and 12 rebounds and Dylan Goosen had 14 points and 7 assists. NA will return to Valley action with SOCES and East Valley.
