Burbank High Girls Basketball 2023-2024 season preview
Following a winning season a year ago in which the Burbank Bulldogs had a record of 15-14 overall, and 9-5 in Pacific League play, this team is entering the 2023-2024 season with new hope and high expectations as it could lead to an exciting season for this young team. Kris Jacoubrian, in his 2nd season as the head coach of the Burbank High girls’ basketball team, has a roster with young talent that will be built around senior guard Nikela Damasen, and junior forward Lauren Navarro. The Bulldogs will begin the 2023-2024 season at the Upland High School kickoff classic which will happen from Monday, November 13th and it will go until Saturday, November 18th.
“I’m excited about this season, we’re young and I love it.” said Jacoubrian. He went on to say that the kids are determined as ever and he is very excited to see them grow as a young group. The coaching staff under Jabourian includes JV head coach Rosie Drachyan along with varsity assistant coaches, Armen Nazarian and Natalie Setaghian.
Senior guard Nikela Damasen shared her thoughts on the upcoming season, “I’m excited about this season and for what’s to come.” said Damasen. She continued on to say that this team is young with a lot of potential.
Other key dates on the calendar for the Bulldogs are when they begin Pacific League play on Tuesday, December 5th when they travel to Muir on the road, along with their home opener against Pasadena on Friday, December 15th. Senior night will take place on the final day of the regular season against Burroughs on Thursday, February 2nd to celebrate the graduating seniors.
