The four-year varsity softball player for the Bulldogs commits to the college of her choice

The superstar pitching ace for the Burbank High Softball Bulldogs Maddison Kellogg officially signed with Cal Baptist University in Riverside California on Burbank High School’s annual athletic signing day in front of family, friends, and teammates during the lunchtime event.

Kellogg is currently playing in her fourth and final season on the Burbank Bulldogs varsity softball team and is expected to add more accomplishments before taking the next steps in her journey to success heading into the college level next spring at Cal Baptist. Kellogg also plays travel ball outside of Burbank High and has had stints with So Cal Bombers and Firecrackers along with playing for the Polynesian national softball team in the summer of 2023.

Kellogg made the Burbank High Softball varsity squad as a freshman and has had sustained success throughout her high school softball journey. Those notable accomplishments include being the Pacific League first-team pitcher in her sophomore year,  Pacific League co-pitcher of the year, and posting the lowest ERA with 0.30 in her junior season.

“It’s exciting for Maddy to officially sign her papers to play college softball next spring,” said Javier Rojas. Rojas stated that it was a great turnout of family, friends, and teammates to show up on Kellogg’s special day.

Kellogg has had two head coaches throughout her time as a Bulldog with Melissa Sanchez being there for the first three seasons and will end her high school softball journey with Javier Rojas.

“I’m so excited about the next step in my softball journey and playing in college,” said Maddison Kellogg. She also added that she’s 100% gonna cherish her final high school season with the Bulldogs.

“It was an accomplishment for Maddison Kellogg to be taking the next step in her softball career, to be able to recognize her for her hard work and see her play at the collegiate level is so rewarding,” said Allison McKain. McKain admits that Kellogg has inspired so many people and is well-known in the community especially since she gives pitching lessons to young players.

The next time that Maddison Kellogg will be celebrated is senior night on Tuesday, April 29th against crosstown rival Burroughs which will be her final regular season high school game. The game between the Bulldogs and Bears will take place at McCambridge Park Field 2.

Quote of the week

I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.
