The final week of the regular season has arrived, and the penultimate edition of the VST power rankings is here. The schools remained the same, but a Valley Mission team moved up a spot after a thrilling win to close out their regular season slate. Here is the latest edition of the top ten teams around the SFV heading into action tonight:
- Birmingham Patriots (6-3) Last Week: #1
The Patriots continued their red-hot second half of the season with a road victory at Granada Hills last week. The Patriots will look to lock up a home playoff game with a win on the road at Chatsworth this week. - Kennedy Cougars (8-1) Last Week: #2
The Cougars have clinched the Valley Mission League and will look to wrap up an undefeated league campaign on the road at Reseda. - El Camino Real Royals (5-4) Last Week: #3
The Royals handled business at home against Chatsworth last week. They will clinch a second-place finish in the West Valley if they take care of Taft on the road to finish up the season. - Van Nuys Wolves (9-1) Last Week: #5
The Wolves are feeling good with a week off before they begin the postseason next week. Their nine-win campaign is their best finish in the Valley Mission since 2012. - North Hollywood Huskies (6-3) Last Week: #4
The struggles of the early season feel like a distant memory with the way the Huskies have dominated East Valley competition. The Huskies will complete back-to-back undefeated league campaigns with a win at Fulton this week. - Granada Hills Highlanders (5-4) Last Week: #6
The Highlanders may have suffered a loss at home against Birmingham, but the squad appears to be peaking just in time for the playoffs. They close out the regular season on the road at Cleveland. - San Fernando Tigers (6-3) Last Week: #7
The Tigers hung tough but ultimately fell to the defending Valley Mission champions at home last week. They will look to lock up a 7-win campaign and a possible top seed in the postseason with a victory this week. - Arleta Mustangs (6-3) Last Week: #8
The Mustangs look ready to do damage in the playoffs after taking care of business at Fulton last week. They’ll wrap up the regular season hosting Poly this week. - Taft Toreadors (6-3) Last Week: #9
The Toreadors took down Cleveland last week and can all but assure themselves a D-I berth with a win in the finale against rivals El Camino Real at home this week. - Sylmar Spartans (5-4) Last Week: #10
The Spartans take the final spot on the list this week after bouncing back from the loss at the Coliseum by trouncing Reseda last week. They will have a tough test on the road at Panorama this week to wrap up the regular season.
