Bob Hart begins his 22nd season as Head Coach of the Burbank High School Baseball Program



After not making the CIF Southern Section playoffs a season ago, the Burbank Bulldogs are looking to return to form in a competitive Pacific League, as they will look to either get into the postseason with the focus of attempting at a League title. Last season Burbank finished with an 8-11 overall record and 6-8 in Pacific League play.


Bob Hart is entering his 22nd season as the head coach of the Burbank High School baseball program which is the longest tenure in Burbank athletics history. Under Hart, the coaching staff features newcomers Paul Frias and Angel Villigran along with returning assistants Craig Sherwood, Mike LeClair and Len Leake. Frias and Villigran are former players for the Bulldogs, having been a part of the Bulldogs 2013 Pacific League championship team.


“I’m always optimistic in how our team grows every year,”said Bob Hart. “I have a year-to-year approach that can define our success.” Hart raved about Jeremy Lee’s leadership traits and also said that he’s one of the team captains on this year’s Burbank Bulldogs baseball team.



The players to be on the lookout for this season on the Bulldogs will be catcher Jeremy Lee (last year’s Pacific League Honorable Mention), outfielder Tomas Angel, and pitcher/infielder Ryland LeClair. Lee, Angel and LeClair are expected to provide the senior leadership on this team this season.


Important dates on the calendar to look out for will be the annual Burbank High Baseball Alumni Game on Saturday, February 7, at 6:00 p.m. Opening day of the 2026 season will take place on Tuesday, February 17 will take place against Marshall with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at Burbank High’s baseball field.


The Bulldogs will start Pacific League play with a two-game series with the Hoover Tornados. The first game will be on March 3 at Hoover with the second game of the series at Burbank High School on Friday, March 6. Both of those games will take place at 3:45 p.m.


Burbank will play Burroughs for a two-game home-and-home series on Tuesday, April 28 and Friday, May 1. The first game will be senior night for the Burbank Bulldogs graduating seniors. And the second game will be held at John Burroughs High School. Both of those games will take place at 6:30 p.m.
