Yosh will look to grow the program in what appears to still be a lengthy rebuild for the Bulldogs

The Burbank High Girls Volleyball Bulldogs are ready to begin the 2025 season with a fresh voice in Stephanie Yosh as she enters her first season as the head coach of the Burbank High School girls volleyball program. Yosh spent the 2023 season as the frosh assistant coach for the Bulldogs before taking the top spot to oversee the program, and is also the third head coach in three seasons for the program. Last season, Burbank finished 9-26-2 overall and 1-7 in Pacific League play and will look to gradually get better and potentially compete for a fourth-place finish in a Pacific League that runs through Crescenta Valley, Arcadia, and Burroughs.

Under Yosh, the Bulldogs coaching staff will feature Carmen Camacho-Platas, as both Yosh and Camacho-Platas will serve as co-head coaches of the varsity team, while Yosh will have expanded duties of overseeing the program. The junior varsity head coach is Melisa Escobedo, and the frosh head coach is Stephanie Anderson. Camacho-Platas was a one-time girls’ volleyball player for the Bulldogs and also played Division three women’s volleyball in college. Anderson returns for her second stint with the program, as she served as the junior varsity head coach in her first stint with the team. “Given all the obstacles and hurdles that we had to overcome with the roof and floor being remodeled back at Burbank High School, I’m very hopeful for this team,” said Stephanie Yosh. Yosh added that she’s loving the chemistry that she’s seen on the court and is ready to see what the team will do this season.

Under Yosh, the players to watch are Senior Gracee O’Connor, Juniors Maddi Yosh and Chloe Gallagher, along with two up-and-coming Freshmen, Sam Yosh and Emerson Chong. Sophomore Ani Kivigian should also be another key player to look out for, as she will look to make a mark on the varsity team.

The 2025 season schedule for the Bulldogs will begin with a season-opening back-to-back against Providence and Marlborough, on Monday, August 11th, and Tuesday, August 12th, with start times at 3:45 p.m. on both days. They will also host a two-day Varsity Tournament at Burbank High School on Friday, August 16th, and Saturday, August 17th.
