Elle Portis & Valarie Barragan’s two second half goals propelled the Bulldogs to the win over the Jaguars







The Burbank Bulldogs came out victorious with a 3-0 win over De Toledo on Monday behind two second half goals by Elle Portis and Valarie Barragan. Burbank came off a three-goal victory over Sun Valley Magnet last weekend while De Toledo came off a 2-0 win over Vistamar the previous Wednesday.




Sophia Leon had a chance to get the Bulldogs on the board, but missed her goal chance in the 26th minute of the first half. Metzil Ortega scored the game’s first goal in the 34th minute to put Burbank up 1-0 over De Toledo. The Bulldogs defense held the Jags at bay throughout the first half as they held on to a one goal lead heading into the halftime break.






Hailey Kim missed a chance to score in the fifth minute of play in the second half before Elle put the Bulldogs up 2-0 over the Jaguars. De Toledo found their chances to score in the second half when Zoe Schultz had opportunities at goal in the 28th and 34th minutes of play. Schultz’s shot in the 28th minute deflected off the top of the crossbar. Outside of those chances, the Jaguars’ offense continued to be held in check by the Bulldogs defense.








Valarie Barragan scored another insurance goal before the final whistle blew to give Burbank a 3-0 victory. Karine Gadyan recorded a shutout in goal, picking up four saves for Burbank and Rhonda Bennett recorded six saves in goal, conceding three for De Toledo.














Burbank improves to 3-0-1 and De Toledo drops to 1-1-0 on the season. Both teams will return to action this coming week as Burbank will host Temple City on Tuesday, December 2nd at 3:45 p.m. and De Toledo will play a road contest at Avalon on Monday, December 1st at 5:45 p.m.
