Jordan Seas scores a go ahead goal in the 27th minute of the second half to help the Bears survive over the Apaches 

The John Burroughs Bears escaped their Wednesday clash with the Arcadia Apaches with a 2-1 win with Jordan Seas scoring the eventual winning goal in the 27th minute of the second half. The win gives the Bears their first Pacific League win of the season. Burroughs came off a 2-0 win over North Hollywood and Arcadia came off a 6-2 win over Blair on Monday. 

To start the first half, Gavin Aduelos missed an early chance to put Arcadia on the board first in the third minute of play. Shortly afterwards, Ian Major, Abram Maclean, and Seven Elkin were unable to convert their opportunities at goal. Major’s chance came in the fifth minute, Maclean’s followed just two minutes later, and Elkin’s opportunity rounded out the trifecta in the 10th minute. James Narmore put the Bears out in front first with a 15th minute goal. Ryder Erickson had an opportunity to tie the match at one, but missed his chance in the 18th minute of play. Burroughs entered halftime with a 1-0 lead at the break. 

In the 14th minute of the second half, Aduelos tied the game at one with a goal from the penalty spot. Elkin had an opportunity to retake the lead for Burroughs but was unable to convert in the 20th minute of play of the second half. Jordan Seas came to the rescue seven minutes later with the go-ahead goal putting Burroughs back up 2-1. Joseph Kaufman recorded six saves in net for Burroughs and Lucas Gonzalez recorded six saves for Arcadia. 

Burroughs improves to 5-5-1 overall and 1-3-0 in Pacific League play and Arcadia falls to 3-7-0 overall and 1-3-0 in Pacific League play. Both teams will return to action on Friday, January 9th as Burroughs will host Glendale and Arcadia will host Muir. Both games will take place at 3:45 p.m.
