The defending East Valley champions make the biggest jump on the list after an exciting come-from-behind victory at Homecoming last week, while the top teams in the rankings held serve with big wins in league play. Here are the top-ten teams in the SFV heading into action this week:
- Birmingham Patriots (3-3) Last Week: #1
The Patriots opened league play with a dominant victory over El Camino, 42-7. They’ll have their first road test in the West Valley on the road at Cleveland this week. - Kennedy Cougars (5-1) Last Week: #2
The Cougars ran their winning streak to four games after breezing past Panorama last Friday night. The League title begins to look like a boat race if they beat Sylmar on the road this week. - Granada Hills Highlanders (3-3) Last Week: #3
The Highlanders impressed on the road at Taft in their West Valley opener last week. They will be hunting for their third-straight win at home versus Elco this week. - Van Nuys Wolves (6-1) Last Week: #7
The Wolves are legit, and this offense is very hard to contain these days. They can become the first city section team in the San Fernando Valley to get to seven wins with a win this week. - North Hollywood Huskies (3-3) Last Week #10
The Huskies looked like they were headed to their first East Valley defeat since the 2023 season, but rallied in the fourth quarter to remain unbeaten in the East Valley. The Huskies look to push the league win streak to eleven games with a victory on the road at Poly this week. - El Camino Real Royals (2-4) Last Week: #5
The Royals got taken to the woodshed in the second half against Birmingham last week, but the potential remains for this squad to make noise down the stretch. It all starts with going on the road and upsetting the #12 team in the city. - Panorama Pythons (5-2) Last Week: #6
The Pythons got beaten up a little last week, but this is a resilient bunch. I’m expecting to see a physical game when San Fernando comes to pay a visit. - Sylmar Spartans (4-2) Last #4
The Spartans fell a few spots on the list after losing to Van Nuys last week. They face a huge test at home against Kennedy this week. - San Fernando Tigers (4-2) Last Week: #9
The Tigers return from their bye this week with a tough test on the road at Panorama. - Taft Toreadors (4-2) Last Week: #8
The Toreadors held their own in the loss against Granada Hills to open West Valley play. They have a chance to bounce back in their first road test in league play at Chatsworth this week.
